Clatsop County Fires update for Monday, Nov. 21

November 21, 2022

FINAL UPDATE – Firefighters continue to see success on several fires in Clatsop County that broke out in last week’s east winds.

Level 3 evacuations for four homes associated with the 98 Delta Fire have been lifted, but Saddle Mountain County Road remains closed at the intersection with Wawa Mainline Road.

A Type 3 ODF incident management team remains in place, and is working with landowners and local rural fire protection districts to build on this success. Reduced winds and an expected shift should help firefighters as well.

Here are final updates on the significant fires:

  • 98 Delta (Private landowner, spread onto state forestland): About 250 acres, fire stayed within current footprint. ODF is in command on this fire and continues to work on completing firelines and mop-up.
  • Green Gold (State Forests): Controlled at about 30 acres and holding within current footprint. Monitor and patrol underway.
  • Middle Mabel (Private landowner): Turned back to landowner.
  • Tillamook Head/Square Creek (Private landowner): Holding at about 80 acres. RFDs and landowner continue work to control and monitor this fire.

Park Fire (Private landowner) – Holding within current footprint of about 110 acres.
