Fishhawk Loop Fire in the Clatsop State Forest is now 50% contained and remains at 120 acres

CLATSOP STATE FOREST, Ore. – The Fishhawk Loop Fire in the Clatsop State Forest is now 50% contained and remains at about 120 acres.

The fire began October 14 at approximately 5 p.m. off of Fishhawk Loop, about 9 miles southwest of Clatskanie, with multiple partner agencies responding to the fire. All of the fire is on state-owned land.

Operations: A type 3 team remains in place. Crews are completing fire lines, installing hose lays, and expect to begin active mop-up today.

Evacuations: None.

Road Closures: Fishhawk Loop Road is closed to allow safe entry for firefighters into and out of the fire.

The Oregon Department of Forestry, Astoria District is still in fire season with Public Use Restriction as Moderate.
