Protection around structures in Ash Valley continues with direct line construction and mop up operations. Firing operations continue on Big Hamlin Fire where black line will soon encircle entire fire area. Structures threatened and evacuation advisories have been issued. Complex located on the Umpqua NF and private lands.

Crews continue securing a slopover that occurred a few days ago off N flank of Chaos Fire. Mop up underway. Chaos and Little Bend fires have merged. West flanks of all fires in complex have been hardened against future east wind events. Road and area closures. The complex is located on the Umpqua NF and private lands.

Indirect line construction and firing projects continue to connect the south end of Jack to the north end of the Buckhead Fire. The Jack Fire is part of Rough Patch Complex on Umpqua NF. Private lands affected.

Fire information
Multiple operations underway including indirect line prep, firing of unburned islands of fuel, and clearing ditches and culverts ahead of rain expected to arrive this weekend. Moderate fire activity. Campgrounds, trails and roads closed in fire vicinity. The fire is within the Bull of the Woods Wilderness on the Mt Hood NF and lands in the north end of the Willamette NF.

Fire is burning in heavy timber in rough and rocky terrain. NW IMT 7 assumed command today providing operational, logistical and resource support for fire suppression effort already underway. Area and road closures in effect. The fire is located on Malheur NF and private lands.
